Lawyers Who Try Difficult Cases

our legal services

Finch McCranie LLP is a nationally recognized trial firm that represents individuals and families in matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, truck accidents, sex trafficking, and federal criminal cases in the white-collar area. Drawing on the experience of former senior government officials and seasoned trial lawyers, the firm helps individuals and families navigate the most challenging and consequential legal challenges of their lives.

Personal Injury

For many years, our trial lawyers have set records for winning jury verdicts, judgments, and settlements in personal injury cases. Many of our victories have exceeded $10 million. We recently won a $40 million verdict for a sex trafficking survivor, and $38 million verdict in a medical malpractice case on behalf of a family. For over 60 years, we have excelled in difficult, complicated cases that other lawyers are afraid to try.

White-Collar Defense

Experience, judgment, courtroom skills, and compassion: That’s what it takes to be an effective and successful white-collar, federal criminal lawyer. As you will see from reviewing the credentials of the members of our white-collar team, every member of our team possesses those qualities (and more).

Areas of Practice

Securities Enforcement & Regulation

Our Securities Enforcement and Regulation team advises public companies, asset managers, boards, audit committees, and senior leaders on all types of securities enforcement matters. Many of these matters stay out of the public eye because we resolve them successfully with no action taken against our clients.

Complex Commercial Litigation

Our extensive experience resolving complex business disputes for corporations, small businesses, and individuals, including an eight‑figure fraud verdict. The firm handles contract disputes, business torts, securities fraud, False Claims Act cases, and related white-collar issues.

Whistleblower
Claims

We represent whistleblowers who report fraud, corruption, and misconduct. The firm is nationally recognized for helping whistleblowers bring successful claims that expose fraud, protect investors, and recover taxpayer dollars.

Internal Investigations, Compliance & Monitorships

We bring deep DOJ and private‑sector experience to internal investigations and white-collar defense, and also serve as an independent corporate compliance monitor. The firm advises companies that must work with monitors, auditors, or independent review organizations.

TRIED AND TRUE TRIAL LAWYERS FOR 60 YEARS

For 60 years, the lawyers at Finch McCranie have achieved a remarkable record of success in tough civil and criminal cases. They have recovered more than $500 million in verdicts and settlements in civil cases and obtained acquittals and dismissals in complex federal criminal cases. With a deep bench of lawyers who have successfully tried over 100 cases in courtrooms across the country, the firm provides all of its clients with a powerhouse legal team.

Drawing on decades of experience working in government, business, and international law firms, Finch McCranie’s lawyers bring unrivaled skill and judgment to the most difficult cases.

Many of the firm’s lawyers have won accolades for high professional achievement from esteemed organizations like Chambers, Martindale-Hubbell, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.

Although the firm’s lawyers are qualified to handle any matter that may ultimately get resolved in a courtroom, the majority of the firm’s work is focused on six primary practice areas: (1) Catastrophic Personal Injury; (2) Wrongful Death; (3) Medical Malpractice; (4) Truck Accidents; (5) Sex Trafficking; and (6) White-Collar Defense.

PERSONAL INJURY & WRONGFUL DEATH

For more than 60 years, we have remained, unlike other personal injury and wrongful death firms. We do not advertise and are not a high-volume shop. Instead, we are very selective about the cases that we handle, because personal injury and wrongful death matters are usually labor- and time-intensive. By being very selective with the cases we take, we are able to give each case the time, attention, and resources that it needs to get the best possible result, regardless of whether that means getting the case resolved with a jury trial or a settlement.

Regarding our white-collar criminal defense practice, by design, we are small but formidable. We handle big cases with potentially big consequences. And time and time again, we have proven that with hard work, determination, and the skills that we have developed through our years of experience in handling high-stakes federal criminal matters, we can obtain exceptional results. Like most of the other matters we handle, white-collar matters are also time- and labor-intensive. For that reason, we usually staff our major white-collar cases with several lawyers, each of whom serves as an integral member of an important and essential team. Of course, the most important member of the team is the individual that we represent. He or she almost always plays a key role in developing the defense, with each lawyer performing critical functions, such as organizing massive amounts of discovery, writing critical pretrial motions, overseeing the defense investigation, and ultimately presenting the defense in a courtroom.

Although our Securities Enforcement and Regulation practice group was only recently established, we have already become the go-to firm in these important matters. This group is headed by Walter Jospin, the former Director of the Atlanta Regional Office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition to Mr. Jospin, this group also includes five former federal prosecutors and a former federal public defender, all of whom have significant litigation experience.
